Blue Ridge Rock Fest

Sep 132022

Monster Energy had an enormous weekend in Alton, VA, as The Virginia International Raceway played host to this year’s Blue Ridge Rock Festival. Having been around multiple years now, Blue Ridge Rock Fest 2022 attracted over 150,000 people with its fan-curated line up of over 186 rock acts who performed over 4 days. With 7 Monster Music sponsored artists performing at Blue Ridge, Monster Energy was on the front lines bringing you the best in music entertainment.

Monster Energy’s newest signing Spiritbox took the main stage by storm. The 4-piece fronted by immensely talented singer/screamer Courtney LaPlante, blew the audience away with their unique brand of melodic Djent crossover. With hooks that will get stuck in your head for days, mixed with ultra heavy guitar-driven riffs, you’re guaranteed to become a fan.

Helping to close out the Monster Energy main stage was one of the famed “Big 4,” (Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth &) Anthrax. One of the pioneers of classic metal and hard rock, Anthrax have been in the game so long, they have simply perfected their festival rock show, cementing themselves yet again as one of the all-time greats of modern rock music.

American skate/surf punk rock stalwarts Pennywise closed out the Fan Driven Stage. Although it had rained throughout the day, Pennywise’s OG fan base were not deterred. The band blasted through classics like Fight ‘til You Die, Society, F**k Authority and closed with the fan favorite, Bro-Hymn.

Big 3’s Ice Cube made a special appearance with a nostalgic set, and despite the audience being made up primarily of rock fans, Cube had an immense turnout of crossover fans who sang every word. Italian imports Lacuna Coil warmed up the Monster Energy main stage, while Tech N9ne closed out the event with a post-party performance.
