Jack Moir Podiums Final Race of Enduro World Series

Ending the season with a podium finish! Monster Energy congratulates team rider Jack Moir on taking third place at Enduro World Series Round 8 in Loudenvielle, France this weekend. In the final race of the season, the 28-year-old from Morisset Park, Australia claimed a podium spot to conclude EWS 2022 in fourth place in the overall series rankings.

Nestled in the French Pyrenees mountains, Loudenvielle provided a worthy finale to an epic racing season. The rough, physical course challenged riders with six stages. And the competition was off the charts with 2022 EWS titles on the line in this final showdown.

Moir came to Loudenvielle as a podium favorite after taking first place at Enduro World Series Round 7 in Crans-Montana, Switzerland the previous weekend. Although the defending champion was out of contention for claiming the season win, he still had garnered enough ranking points to slide into the overall top five in season leaderboards. And he did!

Moir had his work cut out for him, as the tough track was made even more challenging by rainfall on Friday and again on Saturday. As a result, the steep track saw top-ranked riders crashing out left and right over the weekend.

Sunday’s race saw French rider Alex Rudeau take the win in the first stage and remain in the top three over the next stages. But giving the Frenchman a battle for his money as the 2021 champion, Moir made his mark by winning stages four and five.


Heading into the final stage, Moir had cut Rudeau’s lead to only 4.28 seconds. But when all was said and done, Moir found himself leapfrogged during the final stage by Belgian Martin Maes taking second place. With Rudeau taking the win, Moir completed the final race of the season in third place with a 34:03.570 finish time and 6.93 seconds behind the winner.

 

Despite a challenging start to the 2022 EWS season and battling injuries, Monster Energy’s Jack Moir managed to cross the 3,000 points benchmark to take fourth place overall in the series. Congrats from everyone at Monster Energy to Moir and his team!
