The Common Kings have returned to the islands! After a 4-year hiatus, the Southern California band has returned to Hawaii for 2 back-to-back sold out shows. If you haven’t heard, Common Kings is THE iconic, best-selling, Grammy-nominated reggae band with Polynesian roots.
In 2020, the Common Kings were slated to perform in Oahu, only to be canceled by a global pandemic. During that time, they continued to create new music with their unique So Cal vibe that bleeds through every one of their songs. With expert vocals from Junyer King, funky guitar licks from Mata, deep bass from Uncle Lui, and strong rhythms from Big Rome on the drums, they persisted in creating their original reggae sound all through lock down and into 2023.
In Spring 2023, the Common Kings were finally able to announce that their Hawaii performance had been rescheduled. Within 2 hours of ticket sales going live, the first show had completely sold out, forcing the venue to schedule an additional evening of island jams to accommodate the loyal Common Kings fan base.
With some rich Aloha Spirit and their new single, “Raggamuffin” that released on February 3rd, 2023 (stream it here), the Common Kings will be performing a compilation of their popular hits both March 3rd and March 4th at Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu. Joined on stage with Steel Pulse and special guests Dinah Jane, Marc Bassy, Eli Mac and more, it will the party of the year and the first in their kickoff tour of 2023.
