Strap yourselves in and buckle up – the climax to the 2019 Speedway Grand Prix series is going to be one helluva ride.
The Grand Prix series has been shorn of some big names this year but that has only served to open the field right up and Polish hero Maciej Janowski’s win in Germany this weekend means we’ve now had six different winners from the first seven events.
‘Magic’ was entertainer-in-chief at the Bergring Arena and he got his rewards with a first GP victory of the season, but it was his countryman Bartek Zmarzlik who left happiest after cutting Leon Madsen’s lead at the top by six points.
With three huge rounds to go those two are tied for the lead on 85 points and it’s anybody’s to win. Madsen, a GP rookie, is having the year of his life but Zmarzlik has hunted him down and will never have a better chance to take the gold medal.
Our guys Patryk Dudek and Tai Woffinden both battled hard all night but it wasn’t to be. Dudek sneaked through to the semi-final’s but couldn’t make the final, and Woffy was unlucky to miss out on the semi’s as he scored eight points.
Check out the action from another awesome night of racing and stay tuned to see how the title duel unfolds, with the next round in Vojens, Denmark just days away.
