Monster Energy’s Mitch Ropelato (USA) wins the coveted King of Crankworx World Tour title for 2019. Ropelato also took first in the Garbanzo Downhill, won gold in Speed and Style, took first in the Dual Slalom event and took second in the Air DH during Crankworx Whistler.
Given to the most successful, well rounded rider on the Crankworx World Tour, the King takes home a $20,000 bonus check, as well as the privilege of running number plates all next year without a number - simply displaying King on them. The tour featured three stops this year; Rotorua, New Zealand; Innsbruck, Austria and finally Whistler, Canada. Points can be collected across 18 separate events across three stops and three continents and athlete must participate in at least two disciplines to take home the title of king.
