Team Monster Back for Best Pairs Glory

Feb 162018

Monster Energy will once again be entering a team into the Speedway Best Pairs Championship, and we’re in it to win it!

This will be the third season in a row that we have had a team in the three-round series but so far overall victory has proved elusive, but Greg Hancock, Chris Holder and Pawel Przedpelski will again go for gold this year representing the M-claw.

The series sees eight teams do battle over three separate events, with each team entering three riders (two plus one reserve) and scores are decided by where the teams finish in each event. The team with the most points over the three rounds is crowned the winner, with Polish team Fogo Power so far dominating the format.

The series kicks off on March 24 in Torun, Poland and then heads to Rseszow on April 20 and we’ll have Hancock, Przedpelski and Holder in the team for those two rounds, before making changes for the final round in Landshut, Germany in May as Holder and Hancock prepare for the first Grand Prix of the season just two days later.

For that round Pawel will be joined by a Holder, but not Chris! Chris’ little brother Jack will step into his big brother’s shoes and make his Best Pairs debut.

It’s an awesome series to be involved in but Greg is determined to bring home the spoils this season, saying “The Pairs format is really cool and you get to ride with your buddies so it’s a lot of fun, but we haven’t done as well yet as we want to so we’re going for it this year.

“We’ve won two events out of the six but so far we haven’t won overall and that’s the target 100%. Chris, Pawel and I know each other pretty well now and we have a good understanding on the track so we have to use that to our advantage, pairs racing is all about teamwork and we make a pretty good team.

“Obviously Chris and I won’t be at the last round because of the GP but we have two rounds before that where we can try to bring home some big points so we’ll be giving it everything again.”
