The entire racing world looked to the historical 2.722-mile, 16-turn Hungaroring circuit where Monster Energy driver Lewis Hamilton and his Mercedes-AMG F1 W12 E Performance Silver Arrows race car stormed back from a dreadfully bad start to not only place third in the Hungarian Grand Prix but also further strengthen his hold on the F1 World Championship points lead. Following Sebastian Vettel's post-race disqualification, Hamilton moved up to finish in the second position. Hamilton now leads Max Verstappen in the F1 title fight 192 points to Verstappen’s 186. The Calypso Lemonade 200 at Winchester Speedway marked the 12th round of the 2021 ARCA Menards Series on Saturday evening, and it was Monster Energy’s Ty Gibbs and the No. 18 Monster Energy Toyota Camry nailing down yet another race victory! Known as the “World’s Fastest Half-Mile,” Gibbs absolutely dominated the 37-degree Winchester high banks in Indiana.
The 2021 Formula Drift series gathered at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, Washington on Saturday night to continue its championship fight. Monster Energy-backed driver Chelsea DeNofa in the BC Racing Ford Mustang RTR boiling and melted rubber on his way to yet another victory over the world’s best drifting pilots. With the convincing triumph, DeNofa now assumes the Formula Drift championship lead. DeNofa’s teammate and reigning Formula D champion Vaughn Gittin placed 15th in Washington.
Monster Energy Speedway Grand Prix and the Betard Wroclaw FIM Speedway Grand Prix took place in Olympic Stadium in Wroclaw, Poland over the weekend. Monster Energy riders Freddie Lindgren and Tai Woffinden placed fifth and eleventh, respectively, on Friday evening. 24 hours later, the Monster Energy duo bounced back to see Woffinden place fourth and Lindgren finish ninth. Monster Energy Speedway Grand Prix will compete next weekend in the shape of the 2021 Orlen Lublin FIM Speedway Grand Prix of Poland.
The MXGP Motocross World Championship returned to action on Sunday afternoon with the MXGP of Flanders-Belgium. Romain Febvre of the Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team powered thru to the overall victory. With this victory, Fabvre took control of the MXGP World Championship. Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2 Team riders Jago Geerts and Maxime Renaux had excellent performances in Belgium, Geerts winning his home nation Grand Prix with solid 1-2 moto finishes, and Frenchman Renaux third on the afternoon. With his podium finish, Renaux takes command of the MX2 World Championship points lead.
The AMSOIL Championship Off-Road tour rolled into the Dirt City Motorplex Off-Road National complex in Lena, Wisconsin over the weekend. Monster Energy Toyota drivers Johnny Greaves and CJ Greaves faced off with Monster Energy Toyota teammate Kyle LeDuc in utterly dominating the premiere Pro4 classification.
A historic night for Bellator MMA is in the books! Monster Energy’s A.J. McKee had a stunning first-round victory over Patricio “Pitbull” Freire to claim the Bellator Featherweight World Championship title at Bellator 263 on Saturday night. In the Main Event fight, inside The Forum in Inglewood, California, the 26-year-old from Compton dealt the defending 145-pound champion a devastating defeat via technical submission (guillotine choke) to win the Bellator Featherweight World Grand Prix and $1 million grand prize.
