Lyon, France’s Aurelien Giraud takes his skateboarding very seriously. One of the leading riders for Team France, he got his first skateboard at five years old and won his first contest at seven. And, as he developed his style, Giraud’s contest results over the years have been staggering—World Cup, Street League, Dew Tour, Copenhagen, the list goes on. But his results only tell half of the story: Giraud has a preternatural gift for pleasing the crowds which only a handful of skateboarders possess at each event.
